Canadian Seal Industry - Time For A Change Of Modus Operandi

TORONTO - Pamela Anderson cuddled a seal mascot Friday and used her iconic Barbie-like assets to draw attention to what she called the "shameful practice" of seal hunting in her homeland.

Anderson told a gathering outside Ontario's legislature that she wanted to save Canada from further international embarrassment over a "barbaric massacre."

"When I travel all over the world, the Canadian seal hunt is a huge issue that people talk to me about," she said. "So I'm trying to save some embarrassment."

Anderson, 42, braved blustering winds and a bone-chilling damp while clad in a one shoulder sheath and strappy heels. Her handlers ensured not a drop of rain reached her primped hair and makeup...... This is a news story from Yahoo news and the rest of the news can be read Here

Most Canadians who support seal harvesting believe it is an economic mainstay, just like many other areas of the economy that keeps the Canadian industrial machinery humming. The Northerners have lived off seals for a very long time that harvesting them is just second nature to the psyche of the hunters.

Before now, nobody cared very much about how seals were hunted, because not many people had access to the graphic nature of how seals were bludgeoned to their deaths before being skinned, quartered and expropriated of every part of their being for the benefit of their tormentors.

Times have changed however and graphic images of how this sordid affair is carried on in a country as advanced as Canada finds its ways around the globe drawing all kinds of criticism and sympathies from everyone who does not have the stomach to handle the vicious methods of slaughter that are perpetrated on those helpless and innocent looking animals.

The way seal hunting is carried on in Canada, makes it look like the seals are public enemies that must be wiped out by all means and at all costs rather than being a means for sustenance. The hunters behave more of less like a bunch of sadistic headhunters out to eliminate an avowed enemy rather than a source of food.

Canada seems to be one of the more moderate governments on the planet, with a governing system that rivals some of the best democracies on earth. With such a pristine surface and an underbelly of darkness as in the case of brutal seal hunting, I bet many foreigners are asking themselves about what other dark secrets those Canadians have to hide.

I believe it is in the spirit of this way of thinking that Pamela Anderson, who has been known to champion several cases of inhumane treatment of animals is taking on the Canadian government to give a thought to finding a more humane method for harvesting seals.

Human beings all over the planet are at the top of the food chain. Imagine if we were as intelligent as we are but are actually food for some alien life forms who decide to harvest us just like Canadians harvest seal. I wonder how that will make us feel.

Nobody is saying that Northerners cannot make their living off seal. What most are saying is that this is something that helps you grow, perhaps you should treat it with a little more respect. Most people who seat down to dinner every evening say their grace and give thanks to God for providing the opportunity to have something to eat while asking for his blessing. Can those who treat their food with such a high degree of pent up hatred actually have the latitude to beseech God for such a blessing? Because, it does appear as if those who hunt seals do so because they have something against the seals.

Ducks are revered in Canada, even as they pose a health hazard and an economic liability with the hefty amount of waste matter that they dump all over the parks. Perhaps seals, especially baby seals deserve better treatment from the Canadian Government. Rather than ask Ms Anderson to go get first hand experience of how seal hunting is sustaining northern economy, I believe fellow Canadians should heed what she has to say.

Interracial couple denied marriage license in La.

A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have. Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

"I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way," Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. "I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else."

Bardwell said he asks everyone who calls about marriage if they are a mixed race couple. If they are, he does not marry them, he said.

Bardwell said he has discussed the topic with blacks and whites, along with witnessing some interracial marriages. He came to the conclusion that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships, and neither does white society, he said.

"There is a problem with both groups accepting a child from such a marriage," Bardwell said. "I think those children suffer and I won't help put them through it."

If he did an interracial marriage for one couple, he must do the same for all, he said.

"I try to treat everyone equally," he said.

Bardwell estimates that he has refused to marry about four couples during his career, all in the past 2 1/2 years.

Beth Humphrey, 30, and 32-year-old Terence McKay, both of Hammond, say they will consult the U.S. Justice Department about filing a discrimination complaint.

When a Justice of the PEACE suddenly decides to declare a WAR on the constitutional rights of the very people he has sworn to represent, one is prone to start asking questions. Weird questions like is this some kind of conspiracy theory? Is the judge just trying to play God, or is there a central movement towards curbing the rights of Americans as enshrined in the American constitution? Is there a conservative movement towards reducing the many freedoms that Americans have been known to take for granted for so long? Like the freedom of association for example which is being turfed in the garbage by the actions of one judge. Or is it just one judge?

There is the lame excuse that an interracial marriage will hurt the children of such a marriage. What the judge is trying to let us know seems to be that this marriage is doomed to failure from day one. I bet there is a lot more that he knows and is not telling anyone, because he is also giving a hint that he can see into the future. So, either the good judge is a psychic and a very good one at that, or he has access to policy formulation documents that outline the future direction of American affairs.

This is the year 2009, the progress of humanity at all levels of activity is way beyond this type of shenanigans. If animals can be cross bred for attaining a superior quality of meat for food, or to participate in sports, why can't human beings naturally cross breed for better purposes. Or is there a quota on the percentage of those who are allowed to breed higher levels of intelligence?

There has to be several thousands of happily married inter-racial couples out there, so what difference will one more make? The Klums just had their fourth healthy baby and have been happily married for a a long time. They are in the public eye, and it does not seem as if their children are developing any weird symptoms or being hurt by the marriage.

Mr. Justice Keith Barwell ought to reconsider his position on this one. It does not matter if he has 100million black friends lodging at his home every weekend, his objective as a Justice of the Peace is to serve impartially, all and any kind of case that comes across his table. This is his mandate. He cannot concern himself with the personal lives of his clients.

Life is a cycle of events that goes up and down as the case may be; he cannot make himself an accessory to events that will negatively affect others by trying to make them alter their chosen paths. He cannot give a dog a bad name, just because he feels like eating dog meat tonight, or any night.

Many kinds of marriages broke down everyday of the week, throwing the children into a state of despair. I do not think there is any concrete evidence to suggest that Inter-racial marriages fall into any particular pattern. And even if there is, it is not within the powers of any one person to decide who or who should not get married.

Soccer Star Ronaldo At Centre Of Sordid Sorcerer Battle

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo is at the centre of a sordid battle between sorcerers with one trying to ruin him on behalf of a spurned lover and another to save him, reports said Wednesday.

"A rich foreign woman who was betrayed" has paid a Spaniard nicknamed Pepe to "end Ronaldo's career," Correio da Manha daily said.

Ronaldo, who is often photographed with a beautiful young woman on his arm, is currently carrying an ankle injury, and the sorcerer Pepe is claiming credit for it.

Pepe was pictured holding a black wax doll and a photo of the Real Madrid forward with his name scrawled across it.

The sorcerer has refused to identify the scorned woman he claims has already paid him 15,000 euros, Correio da Manha said.

"She paid me to end Cristiano Ronaldo's career and I'm doing that," Pepe was quoted as saying.

Being that this is Halloween season I felt this has to be one the most wicked and mind blowing Halloween tricks ever. I have seen this voodoo practices going on in very small towns and villages, between maybe farmers and land owners fighting over natural resources, or perhaps employees and employers trying to overstep each other's boundaries, or even disintegrated couples looking to get one on each other, but certainly not at this level where international soccer stars and unknown glamorous ladies and sorcerers are involved. I wonder what the laws would say about this. Because if a sorcerer is boasting publicly that he has inflicted harm on somebody else through any means whatever, he is confessing to crime and should by all means be arrested and prosecuted.

One would think that with our current level of technological development, events of this nature should be confined and contained to the small villages where they belong, not be brought out in the open to the current high level of international prominence.

Anyway we should all wish Rinaldo a very happy Halloween, and maybe he can get a very scary mask from his own sorcerer which will scare the hibby jibbies out of Pepe.

China Flexes Muscle

Title of this post was taken from Toronto's Metro newspaper of the 2nd of October 2009 on page 15. The news report is about the Chinese celebration of sixty years of communist rule. Going by China's current economic status on the world stage, no one can dispute the fact that communism, may have been a very good choice. China is the world's third largest economy.

One of the highlights of the celebration according to the news story was a parade of a variety of weapons of mass destruction and the usual fireworks and several other events, which of course, were exclusive to the Communist party hierarchy, excluding the workers whose victory they are supposed to be celebrating.

Anyways, the only problem I find really disturbing was the display of raw power by means of the parade of the weapons of mass destruction.

It has been precisely 64 years since the end of world war II, but virtually every government on this planet celebrate an annual event of this nature the same way; military parades, display of weapons and show of power. It is true that war has been a recurring event even after world war II, but the questions is, going by the principles of the laws of attraction, isn't it time to tone down this unnecessary display of power? Everyone already knows that China is a force to be reckoned with, that the US and the Russians are a force to be reckoned with, that India is a nuclear power and that Iran in spite of its denials is secretly developing nuclear weapons.

It is no longer a secret that all nuclear powers combined possess enough nuclear bombs to wipe out the entire planet including the politicians themselves. We are living on a planet, that is just one world separated by artificial boundaries and whatever affects China is soon going to affect its neighbors and the rest of the earth.

So, what is the point of showing off these weapons. I would think a day like this should be dedicated to those who have sacrificed their lives and their families to preserve the birth of the ideal being celebrated. Technological advancement has brought us here, but our underdeveloped egos is keeping us in the stone ages. Perhaps the law of attraction is fulfilling our wishes to return to the stone ages.

States across the planet ought to start considering the application of the immutable laws of nature to their everyday affairs so as to give some real leadership and hope to the people the leaders are supposed to be serving.
