Golf in shock as Tiger takes indefinite break
LONDON (AP)—Tiger Woods’ decision to take “an indefinite break” to repair his marriage was greeted with surprise, bemusement and even relief Saturday as golfers, fans and commentators contemplated the immediate future of a sport without its biggest draw.
John Daly sympathized as the worldwide media continued to pile up accusations of infidelity, Annika Sorenstam lamented a family tragedy and Colin Montgomerie noted dryly that golf’s big prizes just became a little more accessible.
These are tumultuous times for golf after Friday’s announcement by its No. 1 player that he is taking time out following two weeks of allegations of extramarital affairs. The world - not just the golf world is expressing some kind of mixed feeling or the other about Tiger Woods exit from the golf arena. What nobody seems to be considering is maybe there is an alternative explanation for all the events surrounding the Tiger's supposed unbecoming behavior and sudden departure.
The Tiger is a billionaire and all billionaires always have an exit strategy for all kinds of emergencies. They have plans A, B or C. So far Woods plan A seems to be working perfectly, notwithstanding what everyone else outside his family circle choose to think. Wealthy people like Tiger Woods can fool all the people some of the time, but not all the time. What if all the hype about his adulterous behavior were false and this was an elaborate setup to force him out of the golf circuit so he can get the long vacation Elin has been asking for all these years.
Okay, here is an alternative scenario. I live in Toronto, and I happen to have seen the photographs of a President Obama look alike, with black limousine and all. It is highly probable, about 9 times out of ten that Tiger Woods has a host of lookalikes out there who can perpetuate a host of atrocities in his name. I have studied a variety of expressions on Tiger Woods face after the start of this debacle and I have in fact arrived at the conclusion that he is not responsible for all the atrocities he is being accused of and that he is equally as perplexed as anyone as to why this is happening to him.
If he did not plan this whole episode himself, then perhaps someone who likes him very much and thinks he deserves a forced rest, like they have in the military, may have orchestrated it in his behalf.
Now, those interested in Tiger Woods story may understand why the citing of privacy or family matters by him at the start of the show and think twice before throwing stones at him. Besides, don't everyone think it is time for an alternative view, system, style and leadership to face for the golfing industry?
Onlookers are always quick to jump to conclusions, rather than explore all the possibilities before making a judgement.
